    Weekly Reminders
by Colleen Topolovec - Friday, 14 October 2016, 4:19 PM
Reminders for the week of October 17 - 21:

    Thursday Oct. 20 - Earthquake Drill @ 10:30

Friday Oct. 21 - Pro D Day - students not in school

Cooler weather is here, so please remember to send a warm coat with your child for outside play time at recess and lunch. As well, after our first snow fall, we will be implementing our regular "remove boots at the door" rule. This saves our morning custodian a great deal of work, as she is finished her shift shortly after students begin class. This rule will also apply to adults who enter the building, as we know that modeling appropriate behaviour is one of the most effective ways to help children understand.  We thank you in advance for your support with this! If you are just doing a quick drop off, you may want to say your good byes at the door to make things easier.

    Have a great weekend!

    Bus Loop
by Colleen Topolovec - Wednesday, 28 September 2016, 9:12 AM

    Hi All,

Just a friendly reminder that our bus loop can be a busy place in the mornings. Technically, the bus loops is reserved for bus pick ups and drop offs but I am aware many parents travel through it, to drop students in the morning. If you are traveling through our bus loop, you MUST do so when there are no buses, you are not stopping to enter the building and you are driving with EXTREME caution, for safety reasons. Thank you for your understanding. Safety for our students is paramount!

    Hi Everyone,

Now that our school year is up and running there are a few reminders that we need to get out. The main priority for us at this time is the use of scents. We have several staff members who have allergies to a variety of scents and this becomes even more difficult for them in closed settings like schools and classrooms. We ask that you not wear scents if you are entering our building. Some scents of particular note are: tea tree oil, sage, lavender, eucalyptus, lilac, and pachouli. As well, please avoid fleecy liquid fabric softeners on clothing, scented dryer sheets, perfumes and colognes. As per School District Policy, all school in our district are now actively advertising Scent Aware schools and are conscious of the health and safety of staff and students with allergies. I thank you in advance for your support with this!
